PANDION OFFICEHOME Pollux - New capacities and process insights

Adolf Lupp GmbH + Co KG (hereinafter referred to as "Lupp") has been implementing challenging projects for the construction and real estate industry for over 100 years. In November 2022, the shell construction for the OFFICEHOME Pollux project in Berlin-Friedrichshain began. To increase the efficiency and success of the project, Lupp decided to work with oculai for the first time.

From visionary concept to successful implementation

The quarter is an ambitious project that requires a great deal of attention due to its size, complexity and multifunctional orientation. The project is a prime example of a modern, urban development concept on a plot size of around 9,294m2, which serves primarily as an office area and is supplemented by restaurants, meeting rooms, green spaces and ample parking facilities.

The special feature: shell monitoring with cameras and AI

A total of four oculai cameras were attached to tower cranes over a period of nine months in order to keep a constant eye on the construction process. The cameras continuously collect data on all shell construction processes, which is evaluated using artificial intelligence and allows conclusions to be drawn about the construction operation of the building project.

‍Moreresources and time for the essentials

This new dimension of project control and optimization was of particular importance as, for example, limited space on site required time-consuming and cost-intensive measures. The use of cameras made it possible to increase the productivity of construction management and create new resources without losing sight of the current status and progress of the construction processes.

Checkmark

Thanks to the various camera functions, construction site tours could be made much more efficient and time-saving. Livestream, before and after comparisons and summaries in the form of time lapses noticeably reduced the workload of the site management.

Checkmark

Lupp reports the same with regard to the self-writing daily construction reports: oculai automatically inserts recorded processes and weather conditions, and staffing levels, materials used and machines deployed can be easily added. This eliminates a large part of the time-consuming, manual creation of the daily report and creates new capacities.

Checkmark

By evaluating all the recorded processes, "valuable data for later calculations" could be obtained. Detailed insights into current and past processes allow everyone involved to improve the flow of information and processes in general.

"The collaboration with oculai on OFFICEHOME Pollux was an insightful and groundbreaking project for us. With the ongoing development of the program and continuous exchange of feedback, we are excited to see what innovations the future holds for construction project monitoring with oculai."

A fast shell construction and successful collaboration

In the end, Lupp was able to massively speed up the shell construction of the building project. Thanks to various measures, the standard floors were completed up to 20% faster, so that the shell was handed over before the specified completion date. The construction site also stands out as remarkably fast in comparison with the process data previously recorded by oculai.

Not only Lupp has benefited from the collaboration on the project, but also oculai. As a young and growing company, we are grateful for the regular exchange and the resulting development. In particular, the feedback on the daily construction report was valuable in order to progressively improve the application and adapt it to the requirements of the project.
